Everett, Ricciarini to represent Astros at Draft

ANAHEIM -- The Astros will be represented at Major League Baseball's 2014 First-Year Player Draft on June 5 by Adam Everett and Paul Ricciarini. Everett, who played shortstop for 11 seasons in the Major Leagues, is a roving infield instructor for the Astros. Ricciarini is the Astros' senior director of player personnel and scouting.

The Astros have three selections on Day 1: 1st, 36th and 42nd. Nos. 1 and 42 open the first and second rounds, while the No. 36 is a Competitive Balance Round A selection acquired from Baltimore in the Bud Norris trade.

The 2014 Draft will take place on June 5-7, beginning with the Draft preview show on MLB.com and MLB Network on Thursday, June 5, at 6 p.m. ET. Live Draft coverage from MLB Network's Studio 42 begins at 7 p.m., with the top 74 picks being streamed on MLB.com and broadcast on MLB Network. MLB.com's exclusive coverage of the second and third days will begin with a live Draft show at 12:30 p.m. ET on June 6.
