Fans can register for 2014 MLB All-Star Ticket Strips beginning December 20

Minnesota Twins Season Ticket Holders are Guaranteed the Opportunity to Purchase MLB All-Star Ticket Strips

Major League Baseball and the Minnesota Twins today announced that fans can register for the opportunity to purchase ticket strips for 2014 MLB All-Star events beginning tomorrow, Friday, December 20th by visiting allstargame.com or twinsbaseball.com.

Available tickets will be extremely limited and winners will be randomly selected for the opportunity to purchase full strips, which include:

  • One ticket to the 85th MLB All-Star Game at Target Field on Tuesday, July 15
  • One ticket to Gatorade All-Star Workout Day featuring the Home Run Derby at Target Field on Monday July 14
  • One ticket to Taco Bell All-Star Sunday featuring the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, July 13
  • Two tickets to T-Mobile All-Star FanFest at the Minneapolis Convention Center, July 11-15
  • One official 2014 MLB All-Star Game Program

Minnesota Twins Season Ticket Holders will be among the first fans to receive the opportunity to secure tickets for 2014 MLB All-Star events. Fans can guarantee the opportunity to purchase All-Star ticket strips by becoming Twins Season Ticket Holders by visiting twinsbaseball.com.

To ensure as many fans as possible have the chance to purchase strips, winners of ticket strips will be selected at random. Date, time and instructions for purchase will be communicated via e-mail to each selected applicant by late April.

Additionally, MasterCard, the preferred card of Major League Baseball, will offer a special pre-sale opportunity to MasterCard cardholders for 2014 MLB All-Star ticket strips. Details of this special pre-sale opportunity will be announced at a later date.

Gatorade All-Star Workout Day features American League and National League batting practice followed by the Home Run Derby, where players from each League participate in a home run hitting contest. Recent winners include Yoenis Cespedes (2013), Prince Fielder (2012), Robinson Cano (2011) and David Ortiz (2010).

The 1985 All-Star Game was hosted by the Twins and played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome which marked the debut of the Home Run Derby, with Tom Brunansky of the Twins leading the American League to victory in the inaugural contest. Another former member of the Twins, Justin Morneau, won the revamped version of the Home Run Derby in 2008.

Taco Bell All-Star Sunday includes the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which showcases many of the top Minor League prospects and has featured current Twins Kyle Gibson (2011), Phil Hughes (2006), Jason Kubel (2004) and Joe Mauer (2003). Other players who have competed in both the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and the MLB All-Star Game include Robinson Cano, Bryce Harper, Clayton Kershaw, Andrew McCutchen, Mike Trout, Justin Verlander and Joey Votto.

The 2014 Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, also part of Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, will feature stars from film, music, television and entertainment teaming up with former Major Leaguers and former Twins stars immediately following the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. Past celebrity participants have included Jon Hamm, Jimmy Kimmel, Kate Upton, Marisa Miller, Chris Rock and Jordin Sparks. The game has also featured a collection of Hall of Famers including Ernie Banks, Rollie Fingers, Goose Gossage, Rickey Henderson, Paul Molitor, Ozzie Smith and Dave Winfield. 

T-Mobile All-Star FanFest will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The five-day event, beginning on July 11th will serve as the launch of MLB All-Star Week, which will culminate with the 85th Midsummer Classic on July 15th at Target Field. T-Mobile All-Star FanFest is the world’s largest interactive baseball fan event, providing an unrivaled experience for fans of all ages. Among its attractions are an exhibit from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, batting cages, clinics from Major League legends, free autograph sessions with former Twins and MLB legends, memorabilia, and much more.
