Highlights from What’s New at Phillies Spring Training Media Preview
4:42 PM EST
There’s nothing like the Phillies spring training experience – and earlier today, club executives and special guests provided a sneak peek of all the new technology, food offerings, fashion and enhancements debuting this season at BayCare Ballpark. Highlights included:
- The big reveal of a brand-new LED videoboard, approximately 3,200 square feet and the largest at any spring training ballpark. A major upgrade to the fan experience, the new board features industry‑leading brightness levels that reach 10K NIT and a 10MM pixel pitch for exceptional viewing, as well as a modernized production control room.
- The debut of a new King Swings Playground at BayCare Ballpark, a Phillies-branded, ADA-accessible playground for children ages 2-12 designed in partnership with King Swings, the Official Playground Partner of the Phillies. King Swings is an Amish, family-owned company based in Chester County, Pa., also known for creating custom swing sets for local and international celebrities.
- A first taste of new chef creations and concession offerings, including Jersey Mike’s subs (a Jersey Shore boardwalk favorite), Zac’s Burgers (voted “Best Burger in Delaware County”, Pa.), an all-new lineup of Clearwater Creations (exclusive to Phillies spring training), a secret menu option at Home Run Grille, the return of Colbie’s Southern Kissed Chicken and more.
- The reveal of the newest official Spring Training gear and merchandise, with many items available only at The Diamond Outfitters Store. New offerings include on-field and St. Patrick’s Day caps, ice-cream-themed and “Clearwooder” apparel, and exclusive souvenirs and collectibles such as the limited-edition “Rise to the Show” Threshers-themed top prospects baseball card sets.
- The first photo opportunity of the Phillie Phanatic’s newly upgraded spring training 4-wheeler.
- A preview of dozens of player-signed memorabilia items featured in the new Phillies Spring Training Online Auction, benefiting Clearwater-area charities
The reveal took place just three days before the club’s Grapefruit League Home Opener, marking the 22nd anniversary of Phillies spring training at BayCare Ballpark and the team’s 80th spring training in Clearwater, Fla.
