North Philly Giving Library Renovations Announced by MLB and Phillies Charities, Inc.
On Thursday, July 9, Major League Baseball and Phillies Charities, Inc. held a special event to unveil the All-Star Legacy Literacy Clubhouse & Expansion of Tree House Books, a vital giving library and literacy center headquartered in North Philadelphia.
Special guests and speakers, including MLB Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility April Brown, President of Phillies Charites, Inc. Bonnie Clark, 2008 World Series champion Ryan Howard and his wife Krystle, Hall of Famer CC Sabathia and Hall of Fame journalist Claire Smith, joined Tree House Books executive director Michael Brix to announce the renovations in front of the newly-renovated exterior façade of the building.
As part of MLB All-Star Week, Phillies Charities, Inc. and Major League Baseball made a combined investment of more than $5.5 million into communities in the city of Philadelphia, with projects that empower underserved communities by expanding access to baseball and softball for youth, supporting our veterans and providing essential education and nutritional resources. The 2026 All-Star Legacy Projects were commemorated throughout the week leading up to the 96th MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.
