10:17 AM EST

The countdown to the 2026 season officially began on Tuesday, with Phillies Truck Day presented by Citizens. Phillies front office staff packed thousands of needed items for spring training onto three, 28-foot trailers, before they departed (with a front office celebratory sendoff) for the 1,058 mile, eight-state journey to Clearwater, Fla.

Items aboard the truck include: 5,000 paper cups; 2,400 baseballs; 2,000 short- and long-sleeved shirts; 1,200 bats; 900 pairs of socks; 600 pairs of pants; 600 batting practice hats; 350 pairs of shorts; 300 batting gloves; 250 batting practice tops; 200 fleeces, 200 light jackets; 200 pairs of assorted spike, plastic and turf shoes; 140 batting helmets; 125 leather and elastic belts; 40 heavy jackets; 20 coolers; several bikes; and one Phanatic hot dog launcher.

The truck will arrive in at BayCare Ballpark on Sunday, February 8 – just three days before the first official workout for pitchers and catchers.
