First-place Dodgers take on Arizona Diamondbacks in a three-game series starting tomorrow

LOS ANGELES - The first-place Dodgers' 10^th homestand of the season continues with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks: Friday, September 5 at 7:10 p.m. (LHP Vidal Nuno vs. RHP Dan Haren), Saturday, September 6 at 6:10 p.m. (RHP Chase Anderson vs. RHP Zack Greinke) and Sunday, September 7 at 1:10 p.m. (RHP Trevor Cahill vs. LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu). All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, all auto gates open at 3:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and all auto gates open at 10:30 a.m. and all stadium gates open at 11:00 a.m. Sunday.

Fans are invited onto the field for Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny's immediately following the game tomorrow. In an effort to continue to be good neighbors to the residents surrounding Dodger Stadium, fireworks shows will take place before 11:00 p.m. and are subject to cancellation due to length of game. Tomorrow's show is themed to Classic Rock as voted on by fans.

Dodger Alumni League member Kenny Landreaux will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Dennis Powell will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and in the Stadium Club from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A DJ will provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza. Luke Edgemon, former contestant on "The Voice," who has also appeared on "Glee" and worked with Barbara Streisand and Idina Menzel, will perform the national anthem.

The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Air Force Game 1st Lieutenant Nathan Welch of Seal Beach. Welch was commissioned in 2011, following in the footsteps of his two grandfathers, and serves with the 865th Airborne Control Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base where he flies surveillance and reconnaissance missions to provide intelligence to combatant commanders. He flew 24 combat missions over Afghanistan logging 260 combat hours, which provided more than 87,000 ground troops air support while several high value targets were eliminated. Welch's accolades include the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

As part of Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball, 250 youngsters from South LA's Parmelee Avenue Elementary, Wilmington Teen Center, Huntington Park High School and Lancaster's Challenger Middle School will be in attendance. Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball provides Los Angeles area inner-city youth with a Dodger game experience courtesy of the Dodgers. Transportation to and from Dodger Stadium in a customized Dodger bus, Reserve level tickets, a voucher for a Dodger Dog and beverage and a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball T-shirt are included.

More than 900 students and staff from West Coast Baptist College will be in attendance as part of their annual Dodger Night. West Coast Baptist College, located in northern Los Angeles County, has been training students for church ministry for the past 20 years. More than 1,000 members of the Episcopal Church from various counties throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles which includes Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino, will be in attendance to celebrate their 21st annual Dodger Night. Bishop Catherine Roskam will throw a ceremonial first pitch.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will hold a silent auction on the Club level by the Vin Scully Press Box. The auction ends at 8:45 p.m. with more than 25 items up for bid, including a Clayton Kershaw autographed baseball, Andre Ethier autographed photo and Yasiel Puig autographed game-used #42 LA Dodger jersey from Jackie Robinson Day. All proceeds will benefit LADF and its programs in sports and recreation, education and literacy and health and wellness which help children and families throughout the greater Los Angeles region.

Friday, September 5

Bassist, founding member of LA band Red Hot Chili Peppers, Grammy award-winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and life-long Dodger fan Flea will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Dodger Alumni League member Al "The Bull" Ferrara will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Derrel Thomas will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will sign in the Stadium Club from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A DJ will provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza and a face painter will be on hand for youngsters in the left-field pavilion plaza from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Rob Riggle. Riggle joined the Marines Corps in 1990 and started his career as a pilot and transitioned into Civil and Public Affairs. Immediately following the attacks on September 11, Riggle served with the MTU 17 Unit, and worked at ground zero searching through piles of rubble by hand for six days in hopes of finding potential survivors. Two months later he was deployed to Afghanistan. Riggle served nine years active duty and 14 years reserve. He retired in 2013 and his accolades include the Combat Action Ribbon, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the joint services Commendation Medal.

As part of Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball, 250 youngsters from Boys and Girls Club South Bay, Rose Hill Park Pirates, a baseball team from Rose Hill Recreation Center in El Sereno, and KIPP LA Prep, a high-performing tuition-free public charter middle school in Boyle Heights, will be in attendance. Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball provides Los Angeles area inner-city youth with a Dodger game experience courtesy of the Dodgers. Transportation to and from Dodger Stadium in a customized Dodger bus, Reserve level tickets, a voucher for a Dodger Dog and beverage and a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball T-shirt are included.

The Dodgers will celebrate the first annual Champions Night honoring the accomplishments of local baseball and softball champions from the district, section and state. Five Southern California teams will be recognized prior to the game: Hart Mustang 9U Tournament team, Santa Monica 16U Patriots, Southridge Spartan All-Stars, South Pasadena 9-10 Softball and Jr. Softball All-Star Teams and the Thousand Oaks Little League All-Star State Champs. The California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) Alumni & Friends Association has invited more than 1,000 students, alumni, faculty, staff and community supporters from Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties to attend CI Alumni and Friends Dodger Day. California State University Channel Islands (CI), located in Camarillo, California, is a student-centered four-year public university known for its interdisciplinary, multicultural and international perspectives and its emphasis on experiential and service learning. Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Saturday, September 6

On Sunday, the Dodgers take on the Diamondbacks at 1:10 p.m. to conclude the three-game series. All auto gates open at 10:30 a.m. and all stadium gates open at 11:00 a.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive an A.J. Ellis bobblehead.

International recording artist, from Ontario, California, T Lopez, will perform the national anthem. Dodger Alumni League member Al Downing will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Billy Ashley will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza. A DJ will provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza and a face painter will be on hand for youngsters in the right-field pavilion plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Viva Los Dodgers, presented by State Farm, Chevrolet and Time Warner Cable at the historic 76 station, begins at 11:00 a.m. The pre-game family-friendly festival will feature an appearance by Hanley Ramirez from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the State Farm tent. Musical entertainment will be provided by Cava and Bachata singer J'Martin. Additionally, Dodger Alumni Leaguer Dennis Powell will sign autographs at Viva Los Dodgers.

Adrian Gonzalez, through the Adrian Gonzalez's Viva Los Dodgers community program, provides all-inclusive tickets and parking for families in greater Los Angeles by partnering with various non-profit organizations. This Sunday, Gonzalez will host families from the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF). MAOF is the largest Latino-oriented, family services organization in the United States providing for the socio-economic betterment of the greater Latino community of California, while preserving the pride, values and heritage of the Mexican American culture. This is accomplished through programs in early childhood education and family services, job training and senior lifestyle development throughout the multicultural communities served by MAOF. The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class Ricardo Ferrer of Walnut. Ferrer enlisted in 2002 and is currently assigned to the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 85 onboard an HH-60H helicopter. He serves as a Door Gunner and Combat Search and Rescue Crewman in direct support of Special Operations Forces throughout the world. He has served deployments to South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines. Ferrer's accolades include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation 5K Run and Kids Fun Run presented by your SoCal Honda Dealers will be held on September 21 at Dodger Stadium. The 5K registration for the LADF 5K Run and Kids Fun Run is now open online at www.dodgers.com/5K. Fans can register for the 5K Run for $50 and just $25 for the Kids Fun Run. The 5K Run course includes views of Dodger Stadium, downtown Los Angeles, a cool-down run around the Dodger Stadium warning track and appearances by Dodger Alumni League members. The Kids Fun Run will take place on the Dodger Stadium warning track. Awards will be given to top participants in male and female categories. Each LADF 5K Run and Kids Fun Run participant will receive a Dodger tech shirt and medal. The Dodgers' auto gates are open 2.5 hours before game time and the stadium gates are open two hours before the scheduled first pitch. Fans taking advantage of this early arrival time can enjoy various family-friendly activities as soon as gates open throughout Dodger Stadium, including in the newly enhanced right and left-field pavilion plazas which feature the Budweiser and Bud Light bullpen overlook bars and the new Tommy Lasorda Trattoria and the Think Blue BBQ.
