"He tweaked his hammy," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We'll know more tomorrow or the next day. They said he stepped on the bag and it tightened up pretty good. He was going to try to go out there, but he couldn't get loose. So I'll know more tomorrow about where we're at."
Florimon, who went 1-for-3 with a single, was replaced at shortstop by Eduardo Escobar in the bottom of the seventh inning. Escobar made an error in the eighth, booting a potential inning-ending double play on a grounder hit by Will Middlebrooks. The miscue broke a string of 11 straight games without an error from the Twins.
But the error didn't come back to haunt the Twins, as reliever Jared Burton was able to strike out Stephen Drew and pinch-hitter Mike Carp to end the inning.
