Former Expos Still Playing in the Majors

Growing up in Eastern Canada, I was raised as a die-hard Montréal Expos fan. My favorite thing to do was to give Youpii (the Expos mascot) a hug and eat cotton candy at Olympic Stadium while I sat with my father watching the boys take the field.

In 2004, however, those memories ceased as the team moved to D.C and was renamed the Washington Nationals. While I presently have a soft spot for the US-based team I still call the Expos, I have made it a tradition to continue to root for all of the men who once donned an Expos jersey.

However, there are only 10 former Expos still playing in the Majors:
Endy Chavez
Bruce Chen
Bartolo Colon
Scott Downs
Brendan Harris
Shawn Hill
Maicer Izturis
Ted Lilly
Jon Rauch
Juan Rivera

While these players will eventually retire, they have left an indelible mark on me. I wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors and hope their memories donning an Expos pinstriped jersey are as fond in their minds as it is in mine.
