Springer holds no ill feelings for hit-by-pitch
KANSAS CITY -- Astros right fielder George Springer isn't carrying any hard feelings into Game 1 of the American League Division Series matchup against the Royals tonight at 6:30 CT on FOX Sports 1.
Springer sustained a fractured right wrist on July 1 in Houston, when he was hit by a pitch thrown by Royals pitcher Edinson Volquez, who's scheduled to start Game 3 in Houston on Sunday. Springer missed two months of the season, returning on Sept. 4.

"There's nothing personal against him or them," Springer said. "I'll do anything I can to help this team win and if I have to get hit again, just hope I don't break something."
Springer said he considers the pitch to be an accident and said Volquez reached out to apologize to him at one point.

"He said he was sorry," Springer said. "It's not his fault. He wasn't trying to hit me. It's part of the game, stuff like that happens. … It just shows who he is, he's a good guy. I'm not upset about it."
Since returning to the Astros' lineup on Sept. 4, Springer hit .304 with three homers and 12 RBIs in the final 27 games of the regular season. He doubled in Tuesday's night's AL Wild Card win over the Yankees for his first playoff hit.
