Giants tender contracts to all arbitration-eligible players

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants tendered 2015 contracts to their six players eligible for salary arbitration, a group that consists of first baseman Brandon Belt, outfielder Gregor Blanco, shortstop Brandon Crawford, first baseman/left fielder Travis Ishikawa, right-hander Yusmeiro Petit and catcher Hector Sanchez.

None of this contingent is expected to strain the payroll budget of the reigning World Series champions, though arbitration typically guarantees pay increases that range from significant to exorbitant.

According to salary projections for arbitration-eligible players calculated by MLBtraderumors.com, Blanco will receive $3.5 million, up from $2.525 million this year. Similarly proportioned increases were envisioned for Belt ($2.9 million in 2014, $3.4 million estimated in 2015), Petit ($845,000 to $1.6 million), Sanchez ($512,000 to $1 million) and Ishikawa ($800,000 after playing under terms of a Minor League deal in 2014).

Crawford's salary was projected to more than quadruple, from $560,000 to $2.5 million, a bonanza that's common for everyday players who are arbitration-eligible for the first time.

Players may file for arbitration on Jan. 13, followed by the exchange of figures for one-year contracts between players and clubs on Jan. 16. Arbitration hearings will be held from Feb. 1-21.
