Gomes dealing with setback in rehab assignment

ST. PETERSBURG -- Right-handed reliever Brandon Gomes was scheduled to throw his second rehab inning for Class A Charlotte on Thursday but felt discomfort in his strained right lat.

"Gomer felt more sore than he had been when he was warming up to pitch," manager Joe Maddon said Saturday. "It was a little bit of a setback. He'll be re-evaluated to see where he's at. The soreness did pick up a notch. To that point, everything was going along swimmingly. He was doing good."
