Shortstop Carlos Correa, the Astros' No. 1 prospect, homered and drove in three runs Sunday, helping Class A advanced Lancaster to a 12-5 victory against Inland Empire.
Correa, ranked No. 7 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, finished the game 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
Third baseman Rio Ruiz, the Astros' No. 11 prospect, went 1-for-3 with two walks and scored two runs. Outfielder Danry Vasquez, the club's No. 20 prospect, added two hits and three RBIs. He served as the Jethawks designated hitter Sunday.
Correa has played well since returning from a right shoulder injury that kept him out of action for a week in late April. He returned to the lineup May 2 and has hit .322 in 21 games this month. Overall, the No. 1 pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft is hitting .312/.372/.471 with four home runs and 10 stolen bases in 41 games this season.
