Imagine Dragons to headline All-Star Concert

Grammy Award-winning band Imagine Dragons will headline the Target All-Star Concert, to be held Saturday, July 12, as part of this year's All-Star Game festivities in Minneapolis.

The rock band will be joined by Minnesota-based hip-hop act Atmosphere at TCF Bank Stadium, three days before the All-Star Game is played at Target Field. The free, ticketed concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. CT (with gates opening at 5:30) and is to be followed by a fireworks show.

"Major League Baseball is committed to bringing the great fans of Minnesota an unforgettable week of events and activities leading up to the 2014 All-Star Game, and we are thrilled to host Grammy Award-winning artists Imagine Dragons for what will be an All-Star caliber concert," Major League Baseball Properties executive vice president for business Tim Brosnan said in a statement. "We are proud to work with our great partners at Target and Budweiser to host this concert as part of our All-Star festivities. With fan events like the concert, MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Chevrolet, T-Mobile All-Star Fan-Fest and the Color Run MLB All-Star 5K presented by Nike, in addition to the ballpark events, fans will have many opportunities to create an All-Star memory."

This will be the fourth concert to take place during an All-Star Week. Mariah Carey performed alongside the New York Philharmonic last year in Central Park, and Grammy Award winners Sheryl Crow and Bon Jovi have also performed.

Imagine Dragons' certified double platinum debut album, "Night Visions," arrived last year on the Billboard Top 200 chart at No. 2, and the band has two platinum-selling singles ("It's Time" and "Radioactive").

"We are excited to have this unique opportunity to deliver a world-class show of this nature -- for absolutely free -- to our great fans across Twins Territory."
