Cleveland Indians donate $33,735 to Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland in "Fill the House for Charity"
CLEVELAND, OH --- The Cleveland Indians community outreach initiative, “Fill the House for Charity,” is a partnership between the Indians organization and 12 non-profit service agencies. Each non-profit agency has a designated Tuesday home game to celebrate and promote their mission at Progressive Field. Tonight’s efforts allowed Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland to raise $33,735 for their cause.
The Indians donated $5 of each ticket sold by the participating non-profit organization back to the Charity. Also, $1 from every overall ticket sold for tonight’s game was donated to Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland. Since its inaugural season in 2009, this initiative has raised more than $1.68 million in monetary and in-kind donations for the participating Ohio non-profits.
The Indians also provided promotional support to help raise awareness for the Charity and its event date. This included radio and TV network promotions, a webpage dedicated to Fill the House for Charity− indians.com/fillthehouse− inclusion in the game day’s Batter Up! program, a scoreboard feature showcasing the organization, various Indians autographed auction items and inclusion in pregame activities.
Included in today’s pregame festivities was Morgan Strauss throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and “play ball” kids Clinton Sansonetti and Otto Mott.
