Indians introduce TribeFest, announce dates

The Indians will hold TribeFest 2013 on Jan. 19-20 at Progressive Field, featuring a range of activities and giving fans an opportunity to meet some of their favorite Cleveland players and personalities.

The event, presented by KeyBank, is new for 2013 and replaces the Tribe on Tour shopping mall events from past years. Jason Kipnis, Lonnie Chisenhall, Vinnie Pestano, Carlos Santana and others are expected to be in attendance. They will sign autographs, take photos, answer fan questions and conduct youth baseball clinics.

Other activities will include tours of the Indians' clubhouse and indoor batting cages, and the chance to interact with new manager Terry Francona.

"We are excited to bring this event to Progressive Field and give fans a direct connection with our current players, manager Terry Francona and some of our alumni," team president Mark Shapiro said in a release. "In listening to feedback, getting to know our players and coaches is incredibly meaningful to our fans and it is important for us to provide that opportunity as we head toward the 2013 season."

The event will run from 12-6 p.m. ET both days, and fans can gain access through ballpark Gate A. Tickets cost $10 and go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. They can be purchased online, at the Progressive Field box office or at any Indians Team Shop.

By purchasing in advance, kids 12 and under can attend the event for free, and there is a limit of two free children's admissions per paying adult. Also, the first 100 fans to purchase tickets to each day (200 total) will receive complimentary parking and a free T-shirt.
