Indians recall LHP Kyle Crockett

Option LHP Nick Hagadone to Triple-A

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled LHP KYLE CROCKETT from Triple-A Columbus.

Optioned LHP NICK HAGADONE to Triple-A Columbus.

Crockett, 23, will be joining the Indians for the second time this season after having his contract selected from Double-A Akron on May 16 to make his MLB debut, also becoming the first member of the 2013 draft class to reach the Major Leagues (Cleveland's 4th round selection). The left-hander made 3 relief appearances for Cleveland (2.08 ERA, 4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R-ER, 3 BB, 1 SO, .154 AVG), allowing a solo HR in his first game on May 16 vs. Oakland before combining for 3.0 scoreless frames over his next 2 appearances. Opponents went 0-for-7 with men on base, while lefties were 0-for-5. He was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on May 22. In 21 combined appearances at Akron/Columbus this season, Crockett has posted no record and a 0.74 ERA (24.1 IP, 15 H, 5 R-2 ER, 3 BB, 23 SO, .172 AVG), allowing just a single earned run over 8.2 IP in 6 games since joining the Clippers (7 H, 0 BB, 6 SO).

Hagadone, 28, has gone 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA (2.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R-ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 4 SO, .364 AVG) in 5 relief appearances for Cleveland since being recalled from Columbus on June 2. He is 2-3 with a 3.09 ERA (23.1 IP, 18 H, 12 R-8 ER, 9 BB, 35 SO, .222 AVG) in 18 relief appearances for the Clippers this season.
