Minor League deal includes Spring Training invite

The Cubs have agreed to sign reliever Jean Machi to a Minor League contract that includes an invitation to big league Spring Training camp, according to a Tweet from his agent, Felix Olivo.

Machi, a right-hander who will turn 34 in February, was part of the Giants' World Series championship clubs in 2012 and 2'14. His best season was '14, when he went 7-1 with a 2.58 ERA in 71 games and held opponents to a .201 average, then added seven more appearances in the postseason, including three in the World Series.
