Omaha Storm Chasers (72-59)

Omaha fell short of a ninth inning comeback on a close play at first with the bases loaded. Six Storm Chasers notched multi-hit games, including Jose Martinez and Alex Gordon. Martinez has 12 multi-hit performances in his last 14 games and is batting .527 during that stretch. If his current .391 average holds, he would break the previous PCL record (.383 by Rick Short in 2005). Gordon made his third rehab start, going 2-for-4 with a walk.

NW Arkansas Naturals (62-64)

NW Arkansas 7, Springfield 4

HR: Frank Schwindel (4)

Frank Schwindel hit a game-winning grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to push the Naturals past the Cardinals. Jonathan Dziedzic tossed a solid 6.0 innings, allowing only three hits and no runs. He is 5-0 with a 1.34 ERA in his last eight starts. Daniel Stumpf recorded the win, working 1.2 scoreless innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (55-66)

Carolina 7, Wilmington 4

HR: Alfredo Escalera-Maldonado (2)

Wilmington rallied after facing an early 6-0 deficit, but ultimately fell short. For the fourth time in the last five games, the Blue Rocks have been trailing after the first inning. Alfredo Escalera-Maldonado stood out on offense, going 2-for-4 with a two-run blast. Pedro Fernandez started the game for the Blue Rocks, working 4.0 innings and allowing six earned runs.

Lexington Legends (52-72)

Lexington 3, Rome 0

The Legends blanked the Braves as three Lexington pitchers combined on the shutout. Matt Tenuta earned the win, tossing 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing six hits. Mike Hill led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and drove in two of the three runs.

Idaho Falls Chukars (31-31)

Idaho Falls 9, Grand Junction 5
WP: Todd Eaton (4-4)
HR: None

Idaho Falls scored seven runs in the fifth inning to defeat Grand Junction. DJ Burt extended his hitting streak to 11 and has reached base in 41-straight games. Todd Eaton earned the win for the Chukars, tossing 5.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits.

Burlington Royals (27-34)

Burlington 7, Princeton 6
WP: Jacob Bodner (2-0)
HR: None

The Royals completed a three-game sweep in 10 innings. Angelo Castellano hit a 10th-inning triple and scored on Trey Stover's sacrifice fly. Brien Bien went 4-for-5 with two RBI. Jacob Bodner earned the win, retiring all six men he faced.
