Royals Minor League Report: July 8

Omaha Storm Chasers (47-39)

Omaha 7, Iowa 2
WP: Andy Ferguson (2-2 with Omaha, 6-2 overall)
SV: Matt Murray (1 with Omaha, 2 overall)
HR: Jose Martinez (5), Brett Eibner (10)

Omaha won the first of five against the I-Cubs. Brett Eibner led the offense, finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI. He capped the scoring with a three-run homer in the eighth. Jose Martinez added two hits, including a solo home run. Andy Ferguson scattered two runs, three hits and no walks with four K's over 6.0 innings. Matt Murray tossed 3.0 scoreless innings for the save.

NW Arkansas Naturals (4-8 Second Half, 44-38 Overall)

Frisco at Northwest Arkansas - Postponed due to wet grounds

The Naturals had their return to Springdale postponed by unplayable conditions. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow night. One game is scheduled for tonight.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-5 Second Half, 46-37 Overall)

Wilmington 6, Frederick 3
WP: Zach Lovvorn (1-0 with Wilmington, 6-6 overall)
SV: Matt Alvarez (2)
HR: None

Wilmington scored four in the first, going on to tie a three-game set at one apiece. Zach Lovvorn earned the win in his High-A debut, with his only blemish a three-run homer in the second. Seven different Blue Rocks recorded a hit, with Santiago Nessy doubling home two. Carlos Garcia drove in a run and scored twice.

Lexington Legends (7-4 Second Half, 38-43 Overall)

Lexington 2, Savannah 1
WP: Evan Beal (2-1)
HR: None

Luis Valenzuela's single scored Samir Duenez as Lexington walked off in game one vs. Savannah. Ryan O'Hearn singled home Lexington's first run. He's third in the league with 49 RBI. 2014 second-rounder Scott Blewett held the Sand Gnats to one hit over 5.0 scoreless innings.

Idaho Falls Chukars (7-14)

Idaho Falls 8, Great Falls 2
WP: Tripp Davis (2-0)
HR: None

The Chukars built a 7-0 lead by the third, evening a road set at a game apiece. Idaho Falls stole eight bases, with Jecksson Flores swiping three. Roman Collins, Ryan Dale and Nick Dini posted two RBI apiece. Tripp Davis tossed 3.2 scoreless innings for the win.

Burlington Royals (10-6)

Burlington 6, Bristol 5
WP: Daniel Concepcion (2-0)
SV: Matt Ditman (3)
HR: Anderson Miller (1)

Third-round pick Anderson Miller broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run homer, lifting Burlington to an opening win. It was his first home run as a professional. Ben Johnson recorded three hits and two RBI.

Surprise Royals (11-4)

WP: Arnaldo Hernandez (3-1)
SV: Tyler Cavalho (2)
HR: Leland Clemmons (1)

Surprise won a second straight over the Mariners despite being outhit 14 to six. Emmanuel Rivera doubled home two in a three-run first. Leland Clemmons clubbed a two-run homer in the fourth.
