Ken Griffey's Daughter Commits to Arizona

The Griffey name has become synonymous with athletics. Both Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. excelled at baseball, and sure enough, the rest of the family is just as dominant in sports. In fact, Taryn Griffey, the 18 year-old daughter of Ken Griffey Jr., is an incredible athlete. But perhaps not how you expected.

Instead of following her father and grandfather’s footsteps, Taryn has pursued a career in basketball. Specifically, she is considered a top 50 prospect in the sport and is committed to play at the University of Arizona as a point guard next year. She chose the school due to older brother, Trey, playing in Arizona’s football program.

Baseball, football and now basketball. Wow. I wish my last name was Griffey; it seems as if athleticism runs in their veins!
