Kouzmanoff, Figueroa exit Tuesday's game with injuries
Third baseman could play Wednesday after back issue; lefty to get MRI
OAKLAND -- Both third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff and pitcher Pedro Figueroa had to come out of the Rangers' victory over the Athletics on Tuesday night.
Kouzmanoff had tightness in his back but said he should be fine. He occasionally has a flareup of back trouble and the cold weather on Tuesday night didn't help. He came out in the middle of the fourth inning but could play on Wednesday.
"It's not bad, just a little tightness," Kouzmanoff said.
The Rangers don't know about Figueroa. He threw one pitch in the eighth inning and felt something in his elbow. He had to come out of the game and was examined by the Oakland team doctor afterward. He will likely have an MRI on Wednesday to see the extent of the injury.
If he has to go on the disabled list, the Rangers might consider calling up reliever Neftali Feliz from Triple-A Round Rock.
