Davis reaches double-digit homers for August

Outfielder crushes 10th long ball of month in Cleveland

CLEVELAND -- Khris Davis joined a list of some of the greatest power hitters in Brewers history by belting his 10th August home run during the second inning of Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Indians at Progressive Field.

It marked the 26th month of 10-plus homers in Brewers history, and the first since Prince Fielder hit 10 home runs in June 2011. Fielder also holds the franchise record for home runs in a month, with 13 in May 2007 on his way to hitting 50 that season.

Fielder also has the most double-digit home run months, with six. Gorman Thomas and Ryan Braun have three apiece. Fourteen of the 26 such months in club history have come in the last 15 years, since the Brewers moved from County Stadium to cozy Miller Park.

Davis, who now has 17 home runs this season, credits a more aggressive approach at the plate to his power surge. He has three multi-homer games this month, and has accounted for 10 of the Brewers' last 22 home runs.
