Korean outfielder Son posted by KBO's Giants

Korean outfielder Ah-seop Son has been posted by the Korea Baseball Organization's Lotte Giants, according the Yonhap News Agency.

The bidding process lasts five days, until Friday, and the Lotte Giants will learn of the winning bid on Saturday.

The KBO club will then have until Nov. 26 to decide whether to accept. From there, the winning MLB club would have 30 days from the time the bid is accepted to negotiate a contract with the outfielder.

Son, 27, is the second Korean player to be posted this offseason. First baseman Byung Ho Park was also posted, and the Twins won the negotiating rights with a $12.85 million bid.

Son has been with the Lotte Giants since 2007, and he has appeared in 853 games in that span. In 116 games in 2015, he hit .317 with 13 home runs and 54 RBIs. The left-handed batter has hit at least .306 in each of the past six seasons, appearing in at least 116 games in each of them.
