LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) completed today its second annual New Balance Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation 5K & 10K Run and Kids Fun Run, presented by your SoCal Honda Dealers held at Dodger Stadium. LADF's three runs saw the participation of more than 6,000 runners. The race increased by 2,000 runners with 4,000 partaking in 2014. Dodger alumni league members Al "The Bull" Ferrara, Matt Luke, Kenny Landreaux and Al Downing were on hand as grand marshals.
Justin Patananan (32:47) and Jessica Lengel (43:26) were the winners of the 10K race, while Mario Lopez (16:26) and Nevaeh Walla (19:26) turned in the fastest times in the 5K race.
"While the Dodgers are on the road and continue their race toward the finish line to win their division, LADF was thrilled to play host to thousands of Angelenos at Dodger Stadium for a spectacular run around our picturesque ballpark," said LADF Executive Director Nichol Whiteman. "We are happy with the growth this event has seen in just one year and are excited for its future. Proceeds will continue to support our programs and donations to local nonprofit organizations."
The 10K had 2,400 participants, the 5K had 3,500 participants and 300 youngsters participated in the Kids Fun Run. Additional race sponsors included Avita, Dodgers.com, C2O Pure Coconut Water, LLC, KRAVE Pure Foods, Inc., Kettle Brand, Lenny & Larry's, First Aid Shot Therapy, Gazillion Bubbles and Game Thrilla Mobile Entertainment.
