Major League Baseball TV coverage recognized at Sports Emmys

MLB Network's MLB Tonight honored as Outstanding Daily Studio Show for third consecutive year; FOX, TBS and MLB Network all earn awards for MLB coverage

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences last night recognized a wide range of baseball coverage at the 34th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, as MLB Network, FOX Sports and Turner Sports all took home awards for their work in 2012.

MLB Network won three awards, with MLB Tonight, MLB Network's signature nightly studio show, winning its third consecutive award for Outstanding Studio Show - Daily. MLB Network also won the award for Outstanding Graphic Design for "The Scrapbook" - the montage that opened its first-ever Postseason telecast.

In addition, veteran baseball reporter Tom Verducci won his first career Sports Emmy for Outstanding Sports Personality - Sports Reporter for his work on both MLB Network and TBS.

FOX Sports won the award for Outstanding Playoff Coverage for the 2012 NLCS featuring the seven-game series between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.
