Mariners win challenge on Seager's nice play

BALTIMORE -- Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon successfully challenged a safe call on an infield single by the Orioles' Delmon Young in the sixth inning of Saturday's game, with a replay review leading to the call being overturned.

Young was initially called safe by first-base umpire Tim Timmons on the slow roller to third baseman Kyle Seager. But a quick review showed Seager's throw to first baseman Kendrys Morales just beat out the runner.

The call left the bases empty with two outs for reliever Dominic Leone. Leone struck out the next hitter to finish the frame unscathed.

McClendon has now challenged 21 calls this season, and this was the 10th decision that was overturned.
