Marlins announce 2015 Spring Training invitees

Pitchers & Catchers first workout on Feb. 20; First Full-Squad workout on Feb. 24

The Miami Marlins today announced that they have extended Spring Training invitations to 25 non-roster players. The announcement was made by Marlins President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill.

The Marlins have signed 15 players to Minor League free agent contracts with invitations to Spring Training: right-handed pitchers Ryan Chaffee, Nick Masset, Vin Mazzaro and Ryan Reid; left-handed pitchers Pat Misch, Chris Narveson and Pat Urckfitz; catchers Vinny Rottino and Jhonatan Solano, infielders Reid Brignac, Don Kelly and Scott Sizemore; outfielders Tyler Colvin, Cole Gillespie and Kenny Wilson.

The following 10 organizational players were extended Spring Training invitations: right-handed pitchers Brian Ellington, Trevor Williams and Nick Wittgren; catcher Sharif Othman; infielders Justin Bohn, Austin Nola, Avery Romero, Viosergy Rosa and Jordany Valdespin; outfielder Austin Wates.

Marlins' Spring Training headquarters will be based at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla. Pitchers and catchers will hold their first workout on Feb. 20, and the first full-squad workout will be Feb. 24.

As of today's announcement, the Marlins will have 65 players in Major League Spring Training camp.
