Mets Harlem Shake Video

Thought the Harlem Shake trend was dead, did you? Well, nobody told our good friend Jay Horwitz, who is quickly becoming a Fan Cave favorite.

Jay steals the show right off the bat with some smooth moves that I can only assume inspired the name “Citi Field Shake.”

Words don’t do justice to what you witness the first 15 seconds of the video, and that’s all before the beat drops.

A plethora of cartoon characters from my youth appear, rocking out in the home clubhouse at Citi Field. Call me nostalgic, call me a shameless homer, but I’m going to give the Mets a pass on being a month and a half late on the craze, as well as an A+ for effort.

David Wright and LaTroy Hawkins keep it retro with a little “House Party” homage in manager Terry Collins’ office at the end of the video. Collins may not look impressed, but he’s got to be thrilled with his team’s chemistry leading up to Opening Day.

Expectations may not be sky-high for this team, but as the late, great Tug McGraw said: “You gotta believe!”
