Marlins unveil 'Jose's Heroes' seating section

Season-ticket plan includes T-shirts, meet-and-greet with All-Star Fernandez

MIAMI -- Jose Fernandez generated plenty of excitement and garnered his share of attention during his spectacular 2013 rookie season.

The 21-year-old sensation established himself as the Marlins' ace. He also was named to the All-Star team and went on to receive the National League Rookie of the Year Award.

With "Jose Hysteria" on the rise, the Marlins have created their own cheering area for the hard-throwing right-hander.

On Monday, the club announced the creation of "Jose's Heroes," comprising sections 29-32. Full-season tickets for all 81 home games in the area will be $499 per seat.

The Marlins have yet to make it official, but it is widely assumed Fernandez will pitch Opening Night on March 31 against the Rockies at Marlins Park.

Purchasing season tickets has its perks.

Those in sections 29-32 will receive one "Jose's Heroes" T-shirt per month to wear during each of Fernandez's home starts. They also will have one "K card" per game, to display after each strikeout. Fans also will have a chance to take part in one meet-and-greet opportunity with Fernandez during the season.

Season-ticket packages are available on marlins.com.

Single-game tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. ET at marlins.com as well as at Marlins Park.

The Marlins will have their Winter Warm-Up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET at Marlins Park.
