One thing is for certain: Team USA is doing whatever it can to improve upon its runner-up finish from 2023; manager Mark DeRosa has assembled a star-studded roster for next year's tournament. Team Japan, with Shohei Ohtani back on the squad, will remain a very difficult out while other clubs in the 20-team field have real hopes of contending thanks to the lengthy list of MLB talent that will be participating in this highly anticipated global showcase.
Here are the Major Leaguers who have been confirmed and announced to play in the 2026 WBC by their federations. Other players have publicly expressed interest or have been mentioned by their country’s managers, but they have not yet been confirmed by their federation. Rosters are subject to change based on injuries and availability leading up to the tournament, which is slated to begin on March 5.
