MLBPA to honor Miller at memorial

Association will celebrate founding executive director Jan. 21

The Players Association will host a memorial to celebrate the life and accomplishments of founding executive director Marvin Miller in New York City on Monday, Jan. 21.

Active and former players, executives and historians will join in honoring Miller, whose staunch and unfailing representation of Major League baseball players ushered in the modern era of professional sports. Miller passed away at the age of 95 on Nov. 27, 2012.

The memorial will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tishman Auditorium in New York University's Vanderbilt Hall. The general public is invited to attend on a first-come, first-serve basis.
