Tavern Ballpark

New area at Coors Field adds local establishment

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies and Tavern Hospitality Group today announced the opening of the newest location in the Rooftop area of Coors Field. On Opening Day - Friday, April 4, 2014 - the Rockies and Frank Schultz, one of Denver's top restaurateurs, will open Tavern Ballpark at Coors Field. The spot will be located within the right field Rooftop at Coors Field, the largest rooftop deck in sports, featuring more than 38,000 square feet and incredible panoramic views of the Front Range and the Downtown Denver cityscape.

Tavern Ballpark will feature a wide selection of wine and spirits along with 52 beer taps from a double-sided bar that is 52' 80" in length, celebrating the Mile High City and its great beer culture. The area will offer an open air space with movable glass garage doors, where fans can experience the sights and sounds of the ballpark prior to and during all Rockies home games.

"We're excited to bring another successful local family-owned business to the Rooftop at Coors Field," commented Greg Feasel, Rockies Executive Vice President and COO. "Our fans know that throughout the Denver Metro Area the Taverns are known as friendly neighborhood gathering spots since 1997."

Schultz says, "Forming a partnership with the Rockies is a really exciting opportunity for us. We've been a part of the Rockies neighborhood since 1997, because our Tavern Downtown location is across the street from Coors Field. Putting a Tavern in Coors Field just seemed like a natural fit. One fun thing of note - Tavern Ballpark will be located on the largest rooftop deck in sports; coincidentally, Tavern Downtown has the largest rooftop patio in Denver, at 11,000 square feet."

Founded in 1997, Tavern is an original Colorado establishment, providing great food and drinks, a fun atmosphere and exceptional value to Denver's unique neighborhoods. With seven locations (Downtown, Uptown, Lowry, Tech Center, Wash Park, Littleton and Mile High at Sports Authority Field), Tavern offers guests a crafted experience while providing a consistent, high-quality product in each location.
