Yanks, WFAN to host celebrity softball game
June 3 event to benefit families of NYPD officers Moore, Liu and Ramos
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Yankees are teaming with WFAN's Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton to host a "True Blue" celebrity softball game at Yankee Stadium, honoring the memories of three New York City police officers recently lost in the line of duty.
The June 3 event will be played at 8:00 p.m. ET, with net ticket proceeds to benefit the families of NYPD officers Brian Moore, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, the Silver Shield Foundation and the PBA Widows' and Children's Fund.
Those scheduled to participate in the star-studded event include:
Hall of Fame Yankees manager Joe Torre, former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, New Jersey governor Chris Christie, New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, Jets head coach Todd Bowles, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, St. John's head coach Chris Mullin and former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.
The roster also includes Jets wide receiver Eric Decker, Giants punter Steve Weatherford, former Yankees and Mets pitcher Doc Gooden, Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater Sarah Hughes, Brooklyn Nets center Mason Plumlee, four-time MLB All-Star reliever John Franco, former Knicks guard John Starks, former Syracuse/Knicks forward John Wallace and former Knicks forward Anthony Bonner.
"Girls" and "Mad Men" actress Zosia Mamet, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actor Evan Jonigkeit and CBS 2 anchors Kristine Johnson and Chris Wragge have also committed to play.

Each fan attending the game will receive a voucher good for one complimentary grandstand or bleachers ticket or one half-price ticket in select general seating areas to select 2015 regular-season home games excluding all premium games, subject to availability.
Quik Park and the Bronx Parking Development Corporation will offer parking at the reduced rate of $8 at their lots surrounding the Stadium. Lots will open two hours prior to the event and remain open for one hour after the event concludes.
