Infante the wise man of the Venezuelan trio

Omar Infante, 2B, Royals
Hometown: Puerto La Cruz, Anzoategui, Venezuela

Of the Royals' Venezuelan triumvirate, Infante plays the role of the elder statesman.

Infante, 32, playing in his 13th season and with his fourth different big league team, hails from Puerto La Cruz, Anzoategui. He attended Guanta High School in Venezuela and signed with the Tigers as an international free agent in 1999.

His locker in the Royals' clubhouse falls right next to his younger Venezuelan brethren: Salvador Perez, 24, and Alcides Escobar, 27.

Infante and Escobar form the third Venezuelan double-play combination in the Majors. Texas' Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor and Houston's Marwin Gonzalez and Jose Altuve join the pair.
