Orioles to Host 5K Walk Benefiting the Lungevity Foundation in Memory of Monica Pence Barlow at Oriole Park

The Orioles will open the final homestand of the regular season on Monday, September 28, at 7:05 p.m. against the Toronto Blue Jays. The seven-game homestand will be highlighted by the Breathe Deep Baltimore 5K Walk at Oriole Park; a CALEB JOSEPH school visit for the AT&T "It Can Wait" campaign; several special award presentations; and exclusive giveaways including a Miguel Gonzalez "El Mariachi" designed T-shirt, an Orioles knit bomber hat, and a STEVE PEARCE Fans' Choice Bobblehead presented by AT&T.

On Saturday, October 3, the Orioles will host the LUNGevity Foundation's Breathe Deep Baltimore, a 5K walk to raise funds and awareness for lung cancer in memory of the Orioles' late Public Relations Director, MONICA PENCE BARLOW. Barlow was a member of the Orioles organization for 14 years before she passed away in February of 2014 after a four-and-a-half-year battle with non-small lung cancer. All proceeds from Breathe Deep Baltimore will benefit the LUNGevity Foundation, a non-profit committed to making an immediate impact on increasing quality of life and survivorship of people with lung cancer by accelerating research into early detection and more effective treatments, as well as providing community support and education for all those affected by the disease. The walk will begin at Oriole Park at 9:00 a.m. and conclude on the field. Participants can register for the event beginning at 7:00 a.m. outside of Gate A on the day of the walk or online at www.lungevity.org/baltimore.

The LUNGevity Foundation will also hold a silent auction during Saturday's 7:05 p.m. game when the Orioles host the New York Yankees. The silent auction will feature various Orioles memorabilia items and take place by Gate E through 9:00 p.m.

Additionally, MARK UNGER on behalf of United Concordia Dental will present a check for $10,000 to the LUNGevity Foundation during a pre-game ceremony. Chief Development Officer BECKY BULL will accept the check on behalf of LUNGevity.
