Padres announce additions to 2013 promotional schedule

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced additions to the club's 2013 promotional lineup, including seven new weekend giveaways, Taco Tuesdays and KidsFest at the Park every Sunday. The summer fun at Petco Park heats up beginning in July.
"The fans asked and we listened," said Padres Executive Chairman Ron Fowler. "Providing more, unique giveaway items and promotional events is our way of showing Padres fans that their feedback and their support matter to us. We appreciate them, our players appreciate them, and we're excited to spend our summer together at Petco Park."
The expanded promotional lineup makes its debut Tuesday, July 9, with the first Taco Tuesday of the season, featuring $1 tacos and $5 Park Passes. Every Tuesday home game for the remainder of the season will be Taco Tuesday at Petco Park.
Seven new giveaways will turn up the fun at Petco Park this summer: Padres fedora (July 12), Padres smartphone cover (July 13), SD flip flops (August 17), Padres re-usable grocery bag (August 23), Padres Luchador mask (September 7), and Padres BBQ set (September 20). In celebration of Xolos Night at Petco Park on September 21, a Padres/Xolos soccer scarf has also been added to the lineup. Giveaway items will be distributed to the first 25,000 fans at each game.
The Padres are bringing back a fan favorite from the past: $1 hot dog night returns for one night only on Monday, September 2.
In addition, family Sundays will be taken to the next level this summer, with KidsFest at the Park beginning July 14. Every Sunday of the second half of the season will feature a fun zone at Park at the Park, complete with bounce houses, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities.
