Final player coming to Padres in Venable deal is named
Right-hander Edwards in Majors with Rangers part of past two seasons

The Padres haul from the Will Venable trade is now complete with right-handed pitcher Jon Edwards reportedly surfacing as the player to be named later. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram was the first to report the news, which both clubs have yet to announce.
On Tuesday, the Padres sent longtime outfielder Venable to the Rangers in exchange for Minor League catcher Marcus Greene Jr. and now Edwards.
Edwards, 27, has made 20 appearances out of the Rangers' bullpen in the last two years, posting a 5.02 ERA through 14 1/3 innings in the Majors. He was a 14th-round selection of the Cardinals in the 2006 Draft, and signed with the Rangers as a free agent in 2011.
