Renfroe and Asencio hit back-to-back HRs in Double-A San Antonio win

Outfielders Hunter Renfroe and Yeison Asencio capped a five-run sixth inning with back-to-back homers on Saturday night to lead Double-A San Antonio to a 5-4, Texas League win over Frisco in San Antonio.

Renfroe, 23, the Padres' first-round pick in 2013, hit a two-run shot. His 14th homer of the season tied the game at 4. The right fielder is 12-for-33 (.364) over his last nine games with four homers and eight RBIs to raise his batting average to .270.

Asencio followed with his 11th homer provided the final -- and decisive -- run. After his 2-for-3 performance, Asencio is 7-for-24 (.292) with three homers and seven RBIs over his last five games, and is hitting .283 on the season for the 46-60 Missions.

Right-hander Justin Hancock (3.70 ERA) started and allowed four runs on 10 hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Left-hander Eury De La Rosa (1-0, 0.00 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings. Right-hander Adam Cimber (3.51 ERA) allowed a hit during a scoreless inning, while right-hander Cody Hebner (0.00 ERA) struck out two in a perfect inning to get his first save.

There was considerable movement on the Triple-A El Paso roster on Saturday. Right-handed reliever Leonel Campos was called up by the Padres, while rehabbing catcher Tim Federowicz was recalled from his rehab assignment by the Padres and designated for assignment. Right-handed starting pitcher Bryan Rodriguez was returned to San Antonio, while right-handed reliever Aaron Northcraft was promoted from San Antonio back to El Paso.

Left fielder Alex Dickerson, from Poway (Calif.) High, went 3-for-5 with his ninth homer and two RBIs to raise his batting average to .313. Center fielder Travis Jankowski was 2-for-5, though his batting average with El Paso slipped to .486. Shortstop Ramiro Pena (.304) was 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Lefty Jason Lane (8-7, 5.39 ERA) started and allowed eight runs on 12 hits and a walk with four strikeouts over seven innings. Righty Michael Dimock (0.00) allowed a hit and recorded a strikeout in a scoreless inning.

HIGH CLASS A LAKE ELSINORE (39-66): RANCHO CUCAMONGA 8, Storm 5

Left fielder Nick Torres (.321) was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while catcher Ryan Miller (.284) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Shortstop Chase Jensen (.296) was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Right-hander Zech Lemond (4-10, 5.71 ERA) started and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks with a strikeout over 2 1/3 innings. Righty Rafael De Paula (5.11 ERA) allowed a walk and struck out two in 2 2/3 otherwise perfect innings.

LOW CLASS A FORT WAYNE (53-51): TIN CAPS 4, West Michigan 3

Left fielder Edwin Moreno (.293) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and capped the game with a walk-off single. Second baseman Luis Urias, 18, was 2-for-4 with an RBI to raise his batting average to .379, while catcher Jose Ruiz (.219) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Righty Dinelson Lamet (3.58 ERA) started and allowed three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings. Left-hander Taylor Cox (4.21 ERA) allowed two hits and a walk and recorded three strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Right-hander Colby Blueberg (3-1, 0.86 ERA) allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning.

SHORT-SEASON CLASS A TRI-CITY (26-18): DUST DEVILS 6, Hillsboro 3

Right-hander Adrian De Horta (0.82 ERA) started and allowed a run on four hits and a walk and fanned four over five innings. Righty Phil Maton (3-1, 1.27 ERA) allowed a hit and struck out three in two scoreless innings. First baseman Nick Vitter (.216) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while left fielder Jose Carlos Urena (.286) was 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and a run scored. Catcher Austin Allen (.211) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and first baseman Ty France (.319), from San Diego State, was 0-for-2 with a walk, a steal, an RBI and a run scored.

Righty Diomar Lopez (0.00 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings. Righty Juan Arias (5-1, 2.76 ERA) allowed two unearned runs on a hit in two-thirds of an inning to suffer the loss.
