Padres name Wayne Partello as Senior Vice President -- Chief Marketing Officer and Steven Ziff as Senior Vice President of Sales

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced they have named Wayne Partello as the club's Senior Vice President-Chief Marketing Officer and Steven Ziff as Senior Vice President of Sales. President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Dee made the announcement.

"We are thrilled that Wayne and Steve have decided to join the Padres," said Dee. "Wayne brings limitless enthusiasm and extensive experience to this position which we expect will only further energize both the community and our great fans. Steve has been intricately involved with all aspects of the sales spectrum in professional sports and is adept in the creation and development of new revenue streams."

In this newly created role, Partello will oversee all aspects of the Padres marketing and content platforms encompassed by the following departments: Marketing, Creative Services, Communications, Entertainment & Production, and Broadcasting and Digital/Social (Integrated) Media.

Partello joins the Padres after four years with the Miami Dolphins where he was responsible for a wide footprint of marketing and media areas - including, but not limited to, the development and oversight of The Finsiders (the Dolphins integrated media arm), all aspects of the Sun Life Stadium game day entertainment experience and the team's advertising and creative efforts.

Prior to joining the Dolphins, Partello spent 11 years at Entercom Communications in his hometown of Boston in a variety of different marketing and digital media roles, including work on the Boston Red Sox radio network.  

Ziff will oversee all aspects of the Padres ticket sales, service, administration and operations. He will also oversee the Petco Park Events group.

Ziff comes to the Padres after seven years with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Activation, responsible for driving the growth of the Panthers' ticket and premium sales as well as the sales and marketing of all BB&T Center concerts and non-hockey events.

Prior to his time with the Panthers, Ziff spent more than seven years with Alloy Marketing & Media and the AMP Agency leading strategic development and execution of national marketing promotions for some of the largest Fortune 500 brands.as well as two years at Office Depot leading the company's retail, local, and college marketing for North American stores.
