Pirates finalize Summer Concert Series at PNC Park

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today the details of their 2012 summer concert series at PNC Park following select Pirates home games.

The concert series will again feature the extremely popular “Skyblast” series, presented by Iron City Music, which encompasses a live concert performed by a popular musical act accompanied by a spectacular Zambelli Fireworks show following the game. The dates and performers are as follows:

• Saturday, August 11, will feature STYX after the Pirates take on the San Diego Padres at 7:05 p.m. The rock band, who released four consecutive Multi-Platinum selling albums, is best known for the hit songs such as “Renegade,” “Lady,” “Come Sail Away” and “Too Much Time on My Hands,” among many others.

 • The rock band Lifehouse will perform live on Saturday, September 29, after the Pirates battle the Cincinnati Reds at 7:05 p.m.  With combined album sales of more than 5 million, Lifehouse produced No. 1 hits "Hanging By a Moment" and "You and Me,” as well as other hit singles "First Time," "Whatever It Takes," “All In” and "Broken."

In addition, the Pirates have expanded the popular “FAN JAM” post-game concert series to two shows in 2012.  The dates and performers are as follows:

 • Saturday, June 9, will feature Boyz II Men after the Pirates take on the Kansas City Royals at 7:15 p.m.  With more than 60 million albums sold worldwide, Boyz II Men is the most successful R&B group of all time.  The group, originally from Philadelphia, has also won four Grammy Awards and was nominated for two more in 2009, and also hold the numbers one, three and four spots for three of the longest running singles in music history with "One Sweet Day," "I'll Make Love to You" and "End of the Road," which earned them the honor of being Billboard Magazine's most successful musical group of the 1990s.

 • Rock band Daughtry will perform live on Saturday, July 7, following the Pirates matchup against the San Francisco Giants at 4:05 p.m. Daughtry was formed and fronted by American Idol Season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry, and had their self-titled debut album reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured hit songs “It’s Not Over,” and “Home”.

”We are delighted to once again offer our fans four exciting post-game concerts in 2012, and feel that this year’s musical lineup is our strongest yet,” said Pirates Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Lou DePaoli.  “As we have seen in the past, our fans appreciate the value of bringing their family, friends, and co-workers to PNC Park on a Saturday to catch a Pirates game followed by a post-game show for only the price of a Pirates game ticket.   We are already seeing very strong demand for these games and expect them all to be sellouts as they have been in previous seasons.”
