Bucs to make up rainouts with doubleheader

BALTIMORE -- The Pirates and the Orioles had their second consecutive game postponed because of rain on Wednesday, and the teams are now scheduled to make up both with a single-admission doubleheader Thursday starting at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said his pitchers originally scheduled to start the two-game set would do so on Thursday. Charlie Morton (0-3, 4.35 ERA) was scheduled to pitch on Tuesday, and he'll go in the opener of the doubleheader. Brandon Cumpton (0-1, 2.57 ERA) has been set to go in the second game of the series, and he'll start in the nightcap.

The matchups, however, will change, as the Orioles flipped their scheduled starters. Bud Norris (1-2, 4.44 ERA) will go in the opener, with Chris Tillman (3-1, 3.38 ERA) set to start the nightcap.

The Pirates have now been off since their finale against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Wednesday's contest was called early, as the Orioles announced the new plans at about 3 p.m., four hours before the scheduled first pitch. This is the first time the Pirates have been scheduled to play in Baltimore since 2012.
