Police investigate apparent suicide on Henry's yacht

A crew member of a yacht owned by Red Sox owner John Henry and docked at Rowes Wharf in Boston died Monday in an apparent suicide.

"Earlier today, a crew member on the vessel, M/Y Iroquois, apparently took his life aboard the vessel docked at 30 Rowes Wharf," the team said in a statement. "Mr. Henry and the members of the Boston Red Sox are saddened by the news and send deepest condolences to his family.

"Apparently only crew members were on board the vessel when the incident occurred."

Boston police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca told The Boston Globe earlier in the day that firefighters and police responded to the vessel around noon ET.

Fiandaca told the Globe first responders found a 28-to-30-year-old male in cardiac arrest. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.
