Prince, Beltre need big push on ASG ballot

As voting for starting spots in the All-Star Game nears an end, two Rangers remain in the top five at their respective positions. In the final update of the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot, Prince Fielder was third among first basemen with 2,716,049 votes. He trails the Royals' Eric Hosmer (9,150,908) and the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera (11,594,518).

Fielder, a five-time All-Star, entered Monday hitting .351 with 12 home runs and 48 RBIs, leading the American League in average and hits. He also leads all of baseball with 33 multi-hit games.

Adrian Beltre is fifth among third basemen with 1,416,216 votes. He trails the Orioles Manny Machado (1,938,478), the Tigers' Nick Castellanos (2,076,933), the Royals' Mike Moustakas (10,372,868) and the Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson (11,738,206).

Beltre, a four-time All-Star, is hitting .248 with six home runs and 20 RBIs. Beltre was on the disabled list with a sprained left thumb from June 1-22.

The 2015 All-Star starters will be unveiled on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET on the Esurance All-Star Starters Selection Show on ESPN. Then on Monday at 7 p.m. ET, the All-Star reserves, pitchers and Final Vote candidates will be announced on the Esurance All-Star Selection Show on ESPN, immediately after which fans can return to to begin casting their 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Votes for the final player for each league's All-Star roster. Final Vote ends Friday, July 10, at 4 p.m. ET.
