Prospect Rodriguez earns Pitcher of Week honors

CLEVELAND -- Orioles pitching prospect Eduardo Rodriguez was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Rodriguez is the second pitcher for Double-A Bowie to win the award this season, joining Eddie Gamboa.

Rodriguez had a strong finish to the season, going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA over 14 innings in his final two starts. He allowed seven hits while striking out 11 batters and walking just one.

The youngest player in Major League Spring Training, the 20-year-old lefty was ranked the Orioles' third-best prospect entering the year.

In his final four starts, Rodriguez went 3-0 with a 0.36 ERA. Overall, he was 4-3 with a 4.22 ERA in 11 Double-A starts. He went 6-4 with a 2.85 ERA in 14 starts with Class A Advanced Frederick to start the season.
