Just in time for the All-Star Game: Puckett Place and Carew Drive get new locations in Minneapolis

With All-Star Game events now in full swing, the Minnesota Twins and the City of Minneapolis have found new locations for Kirby Puckett Place and Rod Carew Drive. These commemorative street names will be relocated next to Target Field.

Streets were originally named for Hall of Famers Puckett and Carew next to the Metrodome, where the Twins played until 2009. Now that the Twins have moved to Target Field in the Warehouse District, it makes sense that these two commemorative names move there as well.

Second Avenue North, from 7th Street North to 6th Street North, will now bear the commemorative name Rod Carew Drive. This stretch includes the corner on the ballpark's plaza where a statue of the 18-time All-Star now stands. Seventh Street North, from just east of 10th Street North to 2nd Avenue North, will have the commemorative name Kirby Puckett Place.
