Rain washes out Monday's game in Denver

DENVER -- Following a 2-hour and 30-minute rain delay at the start of the game, the D-backs' series opener with the Rockies on Monday at Coors Field was postponed.

The two teams will attempt to play single games Tuesday and Wednesday, with Monday's game being made up either during June or September. The exact date will not be known until Tuesday, at the earliest.

Tuesday's weather in Denver also calls for rain, and should weather force another postponement, the teams likely would play a doubleheader Wednesday, and then still have to schedule a makeup game for June or September.

The D-backs will stay in rotation, with Monday's starter, Josh Collmenter, shifting to Tuesday. Robbie Ray, who was scheduled to be called up from Triple-A Reno to start Tuesday, will now start Wednesday.

"We're excited to see him pitch," D-backs manager Chip Hale said of Ray. "He'll pitch then, and then the next series with Washington."
