Rangers sign 12 more selections from 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft
The Texas Rangers today announced the signings of 12 selections from last week's 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Those agreeing to terms:
12th Round: RHP Joe Watson, Catawba (NC) College
14th Round: RHP Gio Abreu, St. Raymond's (NY) High School
16th Round: RHP Reed Garrett, Virginia Military Institute
20th Round: C Isaias Quiroz, St. Joseph (NJ) Regional School
21st Round: LHP Sterling Wynn, McLennan (TX) CC
27th Round: RHP Jason Hoppe, Minnesota St. Univ.- Mankato
29th Round: OF Luke Tendler, North Carolina A&T Univ.
30th Round: RHP Cody Palmquist, Palm Beach St. (FL) College
31st Round: RHP John Fasola, Kent St. Univ.
33rd Round: RHP Adam Parks, Liberty Univ.
36th Round: RHP Cody Chartrand, Lewis-Clark (ID) St.
40th Round: RHP Nick Dignacco, United States Military Academy
Garrett, Hoppe, Tendler, Fasola, Parks, Chartrand, and Dignacco have been assigned to Spokane of the Northwest League, which opens its season tonight. Watson, Abreu, Ouiroz, Wynn, and Palmquist have been assigned to the Arizona Rangers of the Arizona Rookie League.
With today's signings, 19 of the 40 players selected by the Rangers in the draft are under contract.
