Rays' prospects taking part in Winter Development Program
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays will hold the organization's sixth annual Winter Development Program for select Minor League players from Monday through next Wednesday at Tropicana Field.
Twenty-nine players will attend workouts each day and receive instruction from Minor League staff, along with an education in a variety of other subjects, including media training.
Also on the docket will be visits to MacDill Air Force Base and the Northside Boys & Girls Club.
Players expected to take part in the event are first baseman Casey Gillaspie, infielder Willy Adames and catcher Nick Ciuffo, who are ranked the club's Nos. 1, 2 and 8 top prospects.
