Souza feels better after dealing with forearm cramp
ST. PETERSBURG -- Steven Souza Jr. left Wednesday night's 7-5 win over the Red Sox with a right forearm cramp after striking out to end the sixth inning.
Fortunately for the Rays, Souza appeared fine after the game.
Souza could be seen standing in the dugout favoring his right forearm prior to the start of the seventh. Once the Rays went back onto the field, Souza did not go out to right field.
"Nothing crazy happened," Souza said. "No need to get into too much detail on the injury or whatnot. It was just a cramp. Didn't have enough time to check it out and put me back in. So it was just a precautionary measure. Hopefully I'll be back in the lineup tomorrow."
In the first inning, Souza set a franchise record for homers by a rookie in April by launching a solo blast off Boston starter Joe Kelly.
