Red Sox to collect items for infants this Saturday

Lindsay Buchholz and Red Sox Wives Lead Collection for Cradles to Crayons

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Red Sox and the Red Sox Wives will be hosting a donation drive of items for infants during their game versus Detroit this Saturday, July 25, at 4:05 p.m. Lindsay Buchholz, wife of Clay Buchholz, is the Honorary Chairperson of the "Gear Up for Baby" Program, presented by the Cradles to Crayons organization.

Fans can provide necessary items for babies and toddlers at tables at each gate at Fenway Park. Volunteers, including Red Sox Wives, will collect the donations from the time the gates open at 2:35 p.m. through the second inning.

Items most in need include baby shampoo, baby lotion, diapers in size N, baby wipes, crib sheets, and onesies of all sizes. Towels, washcloths, soft hairbrushes, blankets, and new bottles and bibs are also appreciated.

The Boston-based charity was established in 2002, and it launched its new initiative, Gear Up For Baby, in memory of Aurora Gray Filyurin- an infant who passed away in June 2014.
